Masters of the End Game
Masters of the End Game
In 2001, Midtown St. Louis needed a long awaited transformation of monumental, historically significant buildings. Checkmate Design took on many properties, beautifully marrying the unique architecture with new function; bringing new life to a community that is now a hotbed of culture and entertainment.
Checkmate grew out of Amy Gill's desire to do architecture and construction in a developer-friendly way, pairing experience with quick decision making for a faster turn around on projects. "What we really want is to merge design and construction into a seamless process." Since its inception, Checkmate Design’s dedicated team of professionals has focused on historic renovations around the St. Louis area and downtown Davenport, finishing projects on time and on budget for over fifteen years.
Checkmate Design has given much needed improvements to some great historical sites, breathing new life into the community.
